Stainless Steel Sculptures

Core Principle: Preserve the metallic luster and prevent environmental corrosion.

• Routine Care (Every 1-2 Months):

1. Cleaning:

Wipe with a soft, damp microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a mild, pH-neutral soap and water solution. Always avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads.

2. Drying:

Buff completely dry with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.

3. Inspection:

Check for minor scratches or dullness. A periodic application of a dedicated stainless steel polish or protective wax (for outdoor pieces) can restore shine and add a barrier.

Important Notes:

  • Address fingerprints or light stains promptly with isopropyl alcohol, then rinse and dry.
  • Outdoor pieces in harsh climates (coastal, industrial) may require more frequent care.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of all welded joints and structural connections to detect and address early signs of wear or damage.
  • Protect the sculpture from physical impact by keeping heavy or sharp objects away from its vicinity.

Bronze Sculptures

Care Schedule:

• Indoors:

Dust lightly every 2 months. Apply a thin coat of wax every 12 months(minimum).

• Outdoors:

Clean gently every 3 months. Apply wax every 6 months minimum.

• Note:

Never use commercial metal polishes, tarnish removers, or abrasive tools.

Key Steps:

1. Clean:

Use warm water or a mild cleaner. A soft non-wire brush can help with stubborn details. Rinse thoroughly.

2. Dry:

Allow to air dry completely.

3. Wax & Buff:

Apply wax sparingly with a soft brush. Let haze (15-20 minutes), then buff to a soft sheen.

Marble Sculptures

Core Principle: Protect the porous stone from stains, acids, and physical impact.

Routine Care:

• Dusting:

Use a clean, dry, soft cloth or duster. A slightly damp cloth can be used occasionally.

• Cleaning:

Only use pH-neutral stone cleaners diluted in water. Immediately wipe up any spills, especially acidic substances (wine, coffee, citrus).

• Protection:

Periodically apply a suitable conservation wax. This will enhance the natural patina and provide a protective barrier against environmental factors.

Special Considerations:

  • Outdoor marble requires checking for weathering or biological growth (lichen, algae).
  • In freezing climates, protect or move indoors to prevent cracking.
  • Display the artwork away from direct sunlight where possible to prevent UV-related fading over time.

General Best Practices for All Sculptures

  • Handling

Always lift, never drag. Use gloves to prevent oils from skin transferring to surfaces.

  • Environment

Avoid placing artworks near heat vents, sprinklers, or in areas with extreme temperature/humidity swings.

  • Professional Care

For significant cleaning, repair, or conservation needs, always consult a professional. Our team can provide referrals.
